The Bond Latin art gallery in Union Square, San Francisco is owned and run by Robert and Vivien Mc Donald.

Robert Mc Donald was born in England, and studied design for three years at Jacob Kramer School of Art and Design. After this he studied painting and printmaking for a further three years at Leeds Polytechnic School of fine art. On Arriving in the United States in 1976 Robert McDonald worked as an artist, taught art and in 1979 took his masters in printmaking at Cranbrook Academy.

Vivien Mc Donald is from Australia where she studied economics. On arriving in the USA. Vivien Mc Donald worked for the Australian consulate, then worked as an art dealer for over twenty years. When Robert and Vivien Mc Donald first traveled to Mexico in 1984, they were overwhelmed at the quality of both the contemporary art scene and the works of the modern masters. On their return to the USA. They were both surprised to see how little attention Latin art was receiving and as a result opened their gallery, specializing in Latin American art.

Over the last twenty years Latin art is rapidly coming to the attention of the general public through numerous museums, giving Latin art the attention it deserves.
